There is much to see and do in Imperial Beach and South San Diego from swimming or surfing at the beach, to a walking tour of public art, to a nature walk and bird watching experience at the world-renowned Tijuana Estuary or to simply relax and enjoy our beautiful sunsets. Along the residential strip lining the long beaches of Imperial Beach, surfing, body boarding and swimming are good and popular activities throughout the summer. Tijuana Sloughs and Border Park are the large and largely impassible marsh areas south of Imperial Beach Blvd. The estuarine lagoons and river mouths here comprise a National Wildlife Refuge of special interest to bird-watching enthusiasts, and the parks service offers guided nature hikes and visitor information.

Imperial Beach Pier
At Portwood Pier Plaza, you will find grassy expanses, picnic areas, a tot-lot, entertainment stage, access to the pier and beach and many tributes to Imperial Beach’s long history as a surfing destination. The history of Imperial Beach’s big wave surfing can be explored through the colorful collection of surfboard benches at Portwood Pier Plaza. A tribute to the history of surf board design, each bench bears a plaque that tells the story of how Imperial Beach’s big waves had an impact on the surfing pioneers from 1937 to the 1950s. The crowning piece of the plaza is Surfhenge – a towering colorful public art monument to surfing.

I had a wonderful experience with this company. The cab driver got to me in about 5 minutes and was very polite and business like. He drove very well and thanked me profusely for his tip (even though I'm ashamed to admit that it was pitiful). I would recommend this company.
